Georgie Bricker hasn’t poked a toe outside the bucolic Virginia women’s college where she teaches French in two decades.


She tells herself her life is fine. Yet on her forty-fifth birthday, she wishes for something extraordinary. She soon learns the college may close due to overwhelming debt and launches a plan to save it.
